What people are saying about the Watermelon Daze Band

"Thank you for all your support and encouragement to our family; all you've done to encourage and uplift our spirits in memory of Larry's life and passing.   It is so hard to put into words what it has meant; I thank God for sending you and the band into our life in such an amazing way-- truly divine intervention...love and blessings to you all".  Melani Crosby

Watermelon Daze... a band with a Veterans heart".  Agent-Orange Quilts of Tears website.

"2005 has been a year full of many memories and special moments.  One of the highlights was the opportunity to help plan and perform at the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans event in Sioux Falls, SD this past July.  So many people came together to make it possible.  The best part undoubtedly was the chance to meet and forge relationships with several Vietnam Vets and those who continue to serve them on a daily basis.  Just an awesome experience!  Thanks to continued support by these special individuals, the band recently received an invitation to perform at the Dedication of the Vietnam War Memorial in Pierre, SD on September 15-16, 2006 along with Credence Clearwater Revisited, the Beach Boys and a reunion performance by the Red Willow Band. Though final details still need to be worked out, it appears that WMD will headline a show in the main USO tent prior to the memorial's official dedication on Friday, September 15th.  Words cannot adequately describe how honored we are to be included.  Early estimates are they expect 40,000 people to attend, so if you are planning on attending the event, we suggest reserving your lodging early.  We'll pass on more information as it becomes available."  Peace.  Erik & the band.

"Once again the Westside Activity Committee wishes to thank you for helping us celebrate 42 years at Westside.  It was a time well spent.  You Guys Rock!"  Westside Activity Committee.  Sioux Falls, SD.

"Some of you may remember WMD from last year.  If you didn't attend last year's reunion, you are in for a real treat.  We as staff and alumni are very proud to be associated with 'Watermelon Daze'."  Alumni Notes.  Keystone.  Canton, SD.

"I saw u guys for the first time at your show in Arnolds Park, Iowa and loved your music!"  Derek Mears, North Mankato, MN.

"The band offers its deepest 'THANKS' to everyone that made the Randy Dybing Benefit such a wonderful event.  To fall just short of our stated goal of raising $10K, especially with the short time line, is nothing short of a miracle.  Randy has now moved on to the next chapter.  But what a glorious demonstration of all that's good about life, love, family and friendship we were blessed to share that evening.  There were so many special moments.  But the one that stands out to me is when we were closing the show with Dylan's 'Knockin' on Heavens Door" and we invited people to join us on stage as we began to repeat the chorus over and over.  I glanced across the stage... and there was Randy, on Bob's mic singing with us, a river of tears streaming down his face.  I'll never forget how special that was, with all that went into that snapshot in time.  The band has received so many blessings lately, it's hard at times to fathom.  All I can say, on behalf of the Watermelon Daze family, is 'thank you' from the bottom of our hearts for all you do for other people.  God Bless."  Peace, Erik & the band.

"What are you guys doing to my daughter (Serenity)?  She has now purchased watermelon soap, body glitter, hand lotion and watermelon chap stick.  She listens to your CD for hours on end.  I think there is some 'subliminal thing' going on here!  I am going to try to the play the CD backwards and find out... if Bob starts biting heads off of bats, I'm going to call a lawyer..."  Billy Mercer, Sioux Falls, SD.

"The music was great,  I heard influences of Rush, The Outlaws, Pink Floyd, Keith Emerson, to name a few, but better yet it was all original!  Pure WMD!  It was HEAVY music , especially considering you calling it Unplugged!"  Jim Eichinger, Worthington, Minnesota.

"Thanks so much for the disc, its awesome!  Some of my friends here have listened to it and they really like it and have asked if you are available for gigs?  ...looking forward to seeing you guys in action this next summer".    Sgt. Sean Moen, 727 Transportation Company, Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Kuwait.

"Hey, you guys were fantastic this past Saturday night...and the CD is terrific.  Keep on doing your thing...  Your words mean a lot, and they need to be shared with others...thanks!"   Gus, Sioux Falls, SD.

"They played their hearts out.  It was an incredible show... the sound was nothing less than superb.  I have never been to a conference where the dance floor was absolutely full the entire time the band was playing.  People were not only dancing, they were listening.  People were coming up to me after the show thanking me for having a band that 'had something for everybody'.  This is a band that writes incredibly well, performs incredibly well...  We highly recommend Watermelon Daze for any kind of event... have WMD play at your next conference or event... you won't regret it.  WMD is the complete package.  These guys are true professionals and their music comes from the heart... it's real and so are they.  My thumbs up to you WMD, you really do have 'depth and weight'."  Alec Rowland, Watertown, SD.

"If there is one word to describe Watermelon Daze, I would have to say 'Chemistry'.  The energy brought out by these guys and how well they play together is amazing!  Their musical talents are awesome.  But more importantly, the ministry brought with this music separates them from others!  With ministry and chemistry, Watermelon Daze is sure to touch the lives of many!"  Rob Kurtenbach, Lifelight Music Festival, Sioux Falls, SD.
